Pricing FAQs

What's a workspace?
A workspace is the unit of billing and collaboration. Solo users get one. Companies create their own. One person can be in many, and data never crosses between them.
Can I buy more usage on top of my plan?
Yes. Every paid tier includes a baseline of storage, queries and connections. Go past it and we keep serving requests, then bill the extra at the end of the month at published rates. You see warnings at 80% and 100% of the allowance so there are no surprises.
Can I cap my spend?
Yes. Flip the hard-cap switch in your workspace settings and we stop usage at the allowance ceiling instead of billing overage. Pro free has hard caps by default. Paid tiers default to soft caps so a query does not fail mid-flight, but you can opt in any time.
Which AI models can I use?
Bring your own. Plug in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, an open-source model on Hugging Face, or one you trained yourself. You authenticate against your AI provider. We do not resell their tokens. Scale tier also runs managed open-source models on in-country GPUs, included in the price.
Where does my data live on Scale?
In an in-country datacentre, under your jurisdiction's data protection law and regulator. Your data does not leave the country.
How do upgrades and downgrades work?
Upgrade any time from workspace settings. New allowances apply immediately and you are billed pro-rated. Downgrade takes effect at the end of the billing period. No annual lock-in.
